How to choose whether to buy or to sell?

Last Updated: Aug 11, 2019 10:17AM UTC
One of the great advantages of CFD trading is that you can benefit from any change in price, provided you choose the right direction. If you think the value of the instrument will go up, open a ‘Buy’ position now and ‘Sell’ it later at a higher price, when closing your position (this is called a ‘Long’ position). If you think the value of the instrument will go down, open a ‘Sell’ position now and ‘Buy’ it later at a lower price when closing your position (this is called a ‘Short’ position).
